As my resume indicates, I have 25 years of process engineering, process safety, and environmental permitting experience with the semiconductor, chemical and refining industry such as Albemarle, Dupont, Honeywell, BASF, Shell Motiva, & ExxonMobil, consulting, and government, a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering (BSChE) from Louisiana State, and a professional engineer’s license in chemical engineering in LA, CA, AZ, and NJ.
I have developed basis of design, process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) for various size projects. I have also used process simulators such as Hysys, Chemcad, & Pro II, performed heat & material balances & hydraulic calculations to size equipment & completed equipment & instrumentation specification sheets for pumps, compressors & heat exchangers.
I have worked as a process safety auditor & am familiar with the process safety management (PSM) program under Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). I have also participated in process hazard analyses (PHAs) utilizing layer of protection analysis (LOPA), performed management of change (MOC) & pre startup safety reviews (PSSRs) for new & modified processes, & assisted in the startup & commissioning of new processes.
Also, I have sized relief valves on pressurized equipment using American Petroleum Institute (API) 520 & API 521.
Finally, I have managed small to midsized projects performing economic evaluations, competitive scoping, & opportunity framing.
