Thaveesa Wansini Seneviratne

Dear Hiring Manager,

I am writing in response to the opening for Finance Assistant. With a formal background in Accounting and Corporate Finance, I am now looking for an international entry-level position that will help me expand my work experience and professional network. Meanwhile, I am also pursuing the Strategic Professional Level examinations of the professional qualification awarded by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants of the UK.

Having already received a short-term training in a Big Four firm, I am well acquainted with being a team player as well as working independently when required. My previous job role predominantly assumed extraction and analysis of client-provided financial and non-financial data for assisting mergers and acquisitions, and I am confident that these skills will translate well into this role at Gradiant.

I am a purpose-driven individual who strongly believes that it is imperative for businesses to adopt a stakeholder approach over merely profit-seeking intent, especially given that we currently reside in an exceedingly dynamic world in all respects. Along with this value-driven mindset, I possess a strong work ethic, the ability to think for myself, consistency, persistence and flexibility – all of those that’ll
assuredly help me in this role, as they are the very skills that successfully navigated me through my academic ventures and even won me the aforementioned traineeship during my undergraduate studies. Further, I am highly organized and take a piecemeal approach to things that often result in clear-cut, effective and efficient outcomes.

As for my eligibility to work in Singapore, I will be requiring sponsorship to obtain a work permit and I am immediately available for the role for a period of up to one year. Further, upon selection, the role will count towards the completion of my Practical Experience Record for the ACCA qualification. I feel confident that a direct conversation will determine if I am a compatible candidate for your position, and I would welcome the chance to prove this. Feel free to reach out if you require any additional information. Thank you for your time, and I look forward to meeting you in the near future.

Sincerely,
Thaveesa Wansini Seneviratne
