The Role

Gradiant seeks an experienced communications professional to drive its external and internal communications strategy. This individual will play a critical role in helping the firm achieve its growth objectives by implementing a strategic communications plan that builds Gradiant’s brand awareness and reputation as a thought leader. The work will establish how Gradiant is communicated, perceived, understood, and experienced in the market. Reporting to Gradiant’s Head of Marketing. This is a new position with opportunities to mentor and develop others and advance as the team and company grows.

 

 

The successful candidate will:

  • Drive an integrated, strategic communications plan that supports business growth goals and enhance the firm’s reputation with key stakeholders
  • Write, edit, and manage the production of communications materials for a variety pf channels – including stakeholder outreach, social media content, sales collaterals, media outreach, and website copy
  • Create a coordinated calendar for externally published content designed to build brand awareness and reputation for thought leadership among targeted customer, media, and investor segments
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with the content, design, digital and media PR vendors required to implement the communications plan and content calendar
  • Implement a social media strategy designed to amplify key business messaging. Actively manage the social media presence (e.g., LinkedIn) of the firm and its leadership
  • Develop communications plans around major announcements, key customer and investor events, product launches, and flagship initiatives
  • Develop and oversee execution of external media strategy, including proactive and reactive opportunities with national and international media outlets
  • Foster, develop, and maintain relationships with journalists of strategic media outlets
  • Plan, implement, manage, and monitor the corporate website in coordination with business cross-functions and subject matter experts
  • Create compelling and effective corporate presentation slide decks and sales collaterals to communicate business messaging and persuade target stakeholders
  • Define and report metrics to quantify results and measure communications effectiveness

 

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of communications experience in a global, cross-matrixed business. Experience in the industrial water treatment market is preferred
  • Great story-telling skills: the ability to take complex, technical topics and turn them into compelling narratives
  • B2B and B2B2C end-user market experience
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, including the ability to synthesize information from multiple sources to develop a clear, compelling message
  • Demonstrated passion for sustainability and technology innovation
  • Knowledge in topics related to water and wastewater treatment, digital solutions, and sustainability
  • Graphics design skills including experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Canva
  • Proficiency with WordPress and experience managing web content
  • Significant experience managing and working effectively with third-party vendors and agency partners
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism or related fields is preferred
  • Highly organized with strong project management skills
  • Attentive to detail as well as seeing the big picture
  • Availability for up to 20% travel
