About the Job
The Senior Buyer will oversee and manage Gradiant’s procurement, material logistics, and supply chain to maximize process efficiency and productivity. In addition, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining good relationships with vendors and co-manufacturers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review open purchase orders, monitor vendor performance, and expedite when necessary
- Purchase components based on production requirements while making sure they meet Gradiant’s quality requirements, cost initiatives, and delivery schedule
- Assure that problems relating to delivery, quality, or pricing are promptly conveyed to the vendor and resolved promptly per standard procedures
- Lead monthly reporting requirements relating to procurement activities and KPI’s
- This role is responsible for purchasing Goods and/or Services at the most favorable prices consistent with the required quality, delivery, and service in line with company guidelines and guidance from the Engineering team.
- Coordinate purchasing of goods and/or services within company policy and procedures and authorized expenditure
- Ensure efficient communication of orders to suppliers and have measures in place to monitor the supplier’s delivery performance. Expedite purchases to ensure supplier’s delivery performance
- Establishes the logistics performance targets and evaluates actual performance in support of business strategies
- Represents the risks associated with the logistics network and current plans and develops options and contingencies to mitigate where needed
- Discover, negotiate, and partner with key freight haulers to keep Gradiant at better than market pricing
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A natural leader with an initiative self-motivating skillset that works both autonomously and in a team environment
- Minimum 5 Years of experience in a Senior Procurement role. Water treatment background preferred)
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, working with direct and matrix resources
- Ability to work across a broad set of stakeholders, both internal and external
- Advanced understanding of MRP system preferred
- Support Finance team
- Advanced MS Excel and Word skills
