Le dessalement n\u00e9cessite g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement une quantit\u00e9 importante d'\u00e9nergie pour pomper l'eau de mer, la pressuriser et la faire passer par des syst\u00e8mes de filtration ou de membranes afin d'en retirer le sel. Le co\u00fbt de l'\u00e9nergie est un \u00e9l\u00e9ment important du co\u00fbt global du dessalement.
