Power plants need water, lots of water – whether powered by nuclear energy or fossil fuels.

Purified water is used by power plants for boilers, cooling, and utility processes to enable reliable and safe operation. Equipment life is prolonged, and corrosion and scaling are controlled. Wastewater generated from operations, such as the large volumes from cooling tower blowdown, must be treated and managed for discharge.
