This year\u2019s conference drew increasing interest from chemists, academics, and industry professionals eager to showcase innovations across climate, energy, synthetic biology, and water stewardship. Chemical &amp; Engineering News\u2019 (C&amp;EN) Craig Bettenhausen shares climate science is inherently multidisciplinary \u2013 we all have to work together, and be able to communicate to each other.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p class=\"p1\"><b>On How Today\u2019s Factories are Turning Green<\/b><b><\/b><\/p><p class=\"p1\">\u201cEvery time you put a query into ChatGPT, a cup and half of water is consumed,\u201d said Prakash Govindan, cofounder of the water treatment firm Gradiant. \u201cAt the rate at which ChatGPT is getting used, by 2027\u2014just ChatGPT, not all AI\u2014is going to consume more water than the United Kingdom.\u201d<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p class=\"p1\">Govindan said modern recycling technology can let AI providers and semiconductor makers reuse 99% of their water.
