This project, a major part of H+E\u2019s approximately $120 million project backlog of signed orders, exemplifies the European Chips Act\u2019s transformative goal of bolstering resilience and driving the digital and green transitions.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The new facility is in Germany, where the semiconductor industry is crucial for its integration with the advanced manufacturing and automotive sectors. The country plays a key role in the EU\u2019s efforts to strengthen its position in the global semiconductor market. The European Commission has stated an objective to reach a 20 percent share of global semiconductor production in the region by 2030. The European Chips Act was pivotal in enabling this collaboration between H+E and the semiconductor client.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The new fab will be one of the most advanced and sustainable semiconductor manufacturing facilities in Europe, and will serve the renewable energy, data centers, and electric vehicle markets.
