Gradiant Spinout to Build Oilfield Water to Lithium Plant in Pennsylvania | Chemical Week

Gradiant spinout alkaLi is scaling lithium recovery with a breakthrough DLE technology at Marcellus Shale. The facility extracts lithium from produced water, achieving a 97% conversion rate. With an investment of $20M and a battery-grade offtake deal, alkaLi sets its sights on producing 1 million tons of lithium annually by 2040.

Gradiant Announces World’s First Fully Integrated Lithium Production Facility from Oilfield Produced Water

Gradiant announced its lithium business, alkaLi, will launch the world’s first fully integrated facility to extract, concentrate, and convert lithium from oilfield produced water. Located in Pennsylvania’s Marcellus Shale Formation, the plant begins commercial operations in early 2026 with a multi-year offtake agreement secured. The patented EC² platform enables faster, cleaner, and more sustainable U.S. lithium production.

Gradiant hat einen Großauftrag für Reinstwasser (UPW) für einen Halbleiterhersteller Halbleiterhersteller in Dresden, Deutschland, und damit sein zweites Projekt in dieser Stadt. Parallel dazu, Gradiant die vollständige Integration von H+E ab, die ihr jahrhundertealtes mit dem Technologieportfolio von Gradiant und stärkt damit die globale Präsenz von Gradiant in den Bereichen Halbleiter-Wasseraufbereitung, PFAS-Entfernung, Lithium-Rückgewinnung und Produktion von grünem Wasserstoff.
