Gradiant is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to join our team. The Role
The successful candidate will:
Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs and procedures for site construction projects and operations, in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
Provide safety training and education to all construction personnel, subcontractors, and other relevant stakeholders.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and develop corrective action plans to prevent recurrence.
Prepare and maintain required project documentation and records related to safety inspections, training, incidents, and compliance activities. This will include but is not limited to, weekly incident summaries, pre-task plans, job hazard analyses, toolbox talks, and inspection reports.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to integrate safety considerations into project planning and execution.
Review construction plans, designs, and specifications to identify safety-related issues and propose solutions.
Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to construction safety.
Serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies, client representatives, and other external stakeholders on safety-related matters.
Foster a culture of safety awareness and accountability among all employees, promoting the importance of safety as a core value of Gradiant.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction safety management, preferably within an industrial setting.
Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), or equivalent are highly desirable.
In-depth knowledge of relevant safety regulations, standards, and best practices, including OSHA regulations.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively train, motivate, and influence others.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating safety risks.
Proficiency in computer applications and software used for safety management, documentation, and reporting.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
