The Application Engineer is an important technical role responsible for providing expertise and support in the design, estimation, and proposal of water treatment solutions for various clients. This position involves working closely with the sales team and internal engineering teams to ensure a competitive design and commercial offering for a diverse set of water treatment projects. The Application Engineer plays a key role in optimizing processes, solving complex water challenges, and ensuring client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Sales team in collaborating with clients to understand their water treatment needs, specific challenges, and regulatory requirements
- Conduct on-site assessments and gather data to develop tailored treatment solutions
- Design customized water treatment solutions, considering factors such as process efficiency, performance, environmental compliance, and cost-effectiveness
- Prepare detailed process flow diagrams (PFDs), equipment specifications, and technical proposals
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, engineers, estimators, and contractors
- Provide technical expertise and support to sales teams during client presentations, ensuring clear and accurate communication of technical information
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in water treatment technologies and share knowledge within the organization
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience within the water treatment sector (experience developing process designs, cost estimates, and proposals is a plus)
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Knowledge of water treatment technologies, equipment, and processes
- Problem-solving mindset and the ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Excellent communication skills (the ability to write well is required)
- Ability to travel (10%) to meet with clients and contractors
