About the Job

The Project Manager will execute the projects within the schedule and budgets by managing from design to completion. Ensure efficient use of resources and enhance cost-effectiveness. Responsible for meeting project P&L, delivery targets, key performance indicators, scope management, cost control, and value-added services. The role is challenging and offers significant potential for innovation and growth. The Project Manager will report to Gradiant’s Senior Project Manager and will directly engage with local & global staff of the Engineering team consisting of Mechanical Engineers, Mechanical Designers, Electrical & Instrumentation Engineers, and Process Engineers. The candidate should have strong technical, organizational, and communication skills related to Project Management. Specific knowledge of water treatment systems, design specifications & standards is desired.

The Role

The successful candidate will:

 

  • Ensure successful initiation, planning, designing, executing, monitoring, controlling and closure of a project on time, on budget, and within scope.
  • Determine project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements, assigning personnel to phases and elements, and reviewing bids from sub-contractors.
  • Generate contractual agreements and finalizing terms & conditions.
  • Ensure the project’s compliance with the applicable codes, practices, policies, performance standards, and specifications.
  • Collaborate and communicate with the Project teams, Engineering teams and other functions to create more efficient project methods and to ensure project timelines are met.
  • Interact with clients, interpreting their needs and requirements, and translating them into an actionable plan.
  • Identify and implement risk management strategies; formulate and implement corrective measures; manage project risks, including the development of contingency plans.
  • Ensure all engineering documents and deliverables are prepared accurately and per required schedule.
  • Cost negotiations and managing sub-contractors of various disciplines to achieve desired deliverables.
  • Define project tasks and resource requirements.
  • Track project deliverables using appropriate tools and initiating the necessary corrective actions.
  • Manage project budget and project resource allocation.
  • Determine project schedule by studying project plan and specifications, calculating time requirements, and sequencing project elements.
  • Prepare monthly progress reports including budget, cash flow and expenses tracking.
  • Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress.
  • Hold regular meetings to ensure that everything is going according to time and budget restrictions.
  • Monitoring overall progress and use of resources, initiating corrective action where necessary.
  • Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems.
  • Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, summarizing information & trend, and recommending actions.
  • Prepare project progress reports, MOM and attend meetings with Clients/Vendors.
  • Attend regular meetings/interaction sessions with customers to enhance customer relationship management in resolving issues, work implementation, understanding customer needs and improving relationship with customers.
  • Present project summary to the management and conduct post-implementation analyses to determine areas for improvements.
  • Provide direction and support to project team.
  • Manage, develop, and motivate staff to help realize their maximum potential to contribute towards achieving the objective of the project.
  • Support engineering, project management and deployment groups to identify and resolve issues.
  • Responding to any client complaints, concerns or requests throughout the project. Ensure client satisfaction and manages escalations and acting as point of contact to the client.
  • Generate innovative solutions and approaches to ensure best approach and solution are adopted to increase quality of service, efficiency, safety, environmental standard in meeting customer needs and requirement.
  • Ensure health, safety, contractual and legal requirements are being met throughout the process.
  • Maintain project data base and backing up data.
  • Support Gradiant Subsidiaries across the globe as required.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field with a minimum of 15+ years of experience preferably in Design & Construction of Water and Waste water treatment plant/ Refineries/Chemical plants or equivalent.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS projects or Project Management software systems.
  • Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of Project Management.
  • Excellent project management and supervision skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in an interdisciplinary team environment to perform all duties in a professional and timely manner.
  • Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills.
  • The ability to work with multiple discipline projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures for EPC projects and design/manufacturing company.
  • Reliance on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Microsoft Office Tools – Word, Excel, Power point and Outlook.
  • Some International travel may be required.
  • This is a 2-year contract position.
