Sales Manager – Food and Beverage

About the Job

The Senior Sales Manager, Food & Beverage plays a crucial role in fostering strong customer relationships and driving sales growth. This position involves selling water treatment solutions and services to businesses in the food and beverage industry. The Senior Sales Manager will work closely with clients to understand their needs, lead cross-functional teams in the development of differentiated offerings, communicate compelling value propositions, and support the delivery of complete solutions.

 

Responsibilities        

Sales Leadership:

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to penetrate the food and beverage market, identify potential customers, and secure new business opportunities.

Market Analysis:

  • Stay informed about industry trends, market developments, and competitors to identify opportunities for growth and adaptation.
  • Analyze market data to identify potential clients, market segments, and emerging trends within the food and beverage water treatment sector.

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and decision-makers in the food and beverage industry.
  • Understand client needs, challenges, and objectives to tailor water treatment solutions effectively.

Solution Presentation:

  • Conduct presentations and demonstrations to clients, showcasing the benefits and advantages of water treatment solutions.
  • Collaborate with technical experts to ensure accurate and compelling presentations.

Sales Process Management:

  • Oversee the entire sales process from prospecting to contract negotiation and closing deals.
  • Create and manage sales forecasts, budgets, and reports for senior management.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Develop a strong understanding of water treatment technologies, processes, and solutions relevant to the food and beverage industry.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in water treatment to provide informed recommendations to clients.

Contract Management:

  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with clients to ensure mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in all contracts.

 

Qualifications

  • Proven experience (7+ years) selling water treatment systems and services (into the Food & Beverage industry is a plus)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of water treatment technologies, equipment, and processes, with a focus on applications in the food and beverage industry
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities
  • Ability to travel (40-50%) to meet with clients and attend industry events
